Many of the
members of the Egypt Shrine Provost Guard have experience in law enforcement, but that is not a requirement for membership.
The Provost Guard is the Potentate's police force. No, they do not investigate missing food from the
buffet line; they spend their time establishing a smooth traffic flow at Shrine events and parades and keeping order when requested.
The Nobles of this group have learned how to do a job and have a great deal of fun doing their job.
Every year this unit holds a dance which is well attended by the Shrine Membership. There is no doubt that
this is the most pleasant group of cops in the area.
